A great philosopher Socrates was a familiar figure in Athens. Shabbily dressed and always barefoot, he spent his days discussing everything under the sun with all and sundry. He was soon regarded as the wisest man in Athens, even though the city was full of philosophers who charged money for teaching.
This flattery did not impress Socrates. He stated, " The only thing I know is that I know nothing."
Socates also said :
" IGNORANCE IS THE ONLY EVIL"
Socrates believed that happiness came from leading a good life. What is good and what is bad?
This was the big question he was facing among his foes.
Socrates thought he might find out if he talked to enough people. The more questions he asked, the more he would know, and knowledge was the one thing he was sure was good . But his challenging questions got him into trouble with some of Athens' leading political figures. They did not take kindly to having their opinions reduced to shreds.
Furthermore, Socrates was arrested and accused of corrupting young minds and worshiping false gods.
He was found guilty on both charges and sentenced to death by drinking poisonous hemlock.
His accusers expected him to beg for his life. Their
real intentions was to take this colorful character down a peg or two.
However, under Athenian law, Socrates had the chance to suggest a different punishment. But he refused to grovel. Instead, he proposed that the city should give one free meal a day and erect a statue of himself in the marketplace.
The court was not amused with Socrates and ordered the sudden death sentence to be carried out.
The old philosopher was honest ( and penniless )
to the end. Rather than die owing money, he paid off his final debt with a chicken. This great philosopher lost his life only because of one single statement of truth. Did that ring the belt to you in your era in the 20th & 21st century in Jehovah's church, among El Shaddai's great people. Let us meditate in this story. Human beings are the same in our time as they were in Socrates's era. People are like trapped prisoners who only ever see shadows.
They mistake these shadows for what is real. Plato was a devoted disciple of Socrates. Plato was born in the aritocracy of Athens, And He could very easily have risen to a position of power. but what he saw of a cut-throat, rough-and-tumble of politics disgusted him. Plato knew that a good government would never have murdered a good man like Socrates, the tragic death of his friend and teacher spurred Plato to do something that would change things. He believed that good leaders weren't born,
they had the right education. So he opened his own school. From then on, his teachings focused on one big question:
IS THERE A PERFECT WORLD
Yes with ELOHIM there is!
The first revelation of ELOHIM
One true God The Creator = ELOHIM.
In the Beginning ELOHIM Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God= ELOHIM created the heaven and the earth.
ELOHIM is the plural form of God in Hebrew .
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word = Yeshuah King Jesus Emmanuel= with us is God.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God.
Jesus was with ELOHIM in the Beginning.
The majesty of the miracle of Yeshuah Jesus of Nazareth!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!
